Understanding your pain is the first step with recovery!
What is Pain?
Pain is our body's way of telling us that something is wrong. It is a signal that is sent from the body to the brain, and it can be extremely unpleasant. There are many different types of pain, but all of them share one common goal: to get us to take action in order to prevent further damage.
Essentially it’s your body saying something is wrong and something must change!
How do we get change?
There are many ways we can create a change in the body:
- Medication
- Different environment
- exercise and
- manual therapy
At Brunswick Osteopathy & Myotherapy we can help you with three of these and aim to reduce the need for medication!

What do we offer at Brunswick Osteopathy & Myotherapy
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a branch of allied health that focuses on the treatment of the neuro-musculoskeletal system, which includes the bones, muscles, nerves, and other tissues that support your body and control its movements. Osteopaths treat more than you think.
At our clinic, you will receive a full and thorough assessment from our osteopaths. This assessment encompasses biomechanical, orthopedic, functional, and neurological examination to gain a clear understanding of your overall health. Our holistic approach means you are in good hands.
Osteopathy is a hands-on profession and may involve a range of techniques, including:
- Massage
- Stretching
- Mobilisation
- Manipulation
- Dry needling and
- Exercise rehabilitation / prescription.
Remedial Massage
Remedial massage is a type of massage therapy that aims to improve the physical structure of the body by treating a range of problems with muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
All our therapists have completed a diploma of Remedial Massage and have an understanding of anatomy, diagnosis, pathology, therapeutic massage, deep tissue and sports massage.
Myotherapy
A myotherapist's training builds on the soft tissue techniques learned as a remedial massage therapist, with an even greater emphasis on biomechanics, postural analysis and injury rehabilitation. Myotherapy training is an additional twelve months on top of a remedial massage qualification.
Techniques
Our remedial massage therapists and myotherapists after taking a full history and completing a full examination and orthopaedic testing, may use the following techniques:
- Soft tissue manipulation (including deep tissue massage)
- Trigger point therapy
- Myofascial release
- Myofascial cupping
- Joint mobilisation
- Muscle energy technique
